CLIMATE

Southern Tasmania enjoys a cool, temperate climate.

The rainfall averages 850mm and is evenly distributed throughout the seasons.

Cool winters of 4-10 degrees shut down the vines at pruning, mists roll down the river valley and rainfall is reliable. Summers are warm with high sunlight hours averaging a range of 12-23 degrees.

Autumns are long, languid and soft sun rays ripen the fruit with complex flavours for late vintage in April each year. Gentle north facing vineyard slopes gain reflected light from the broad (600m) expanse of the Huon River providing the perfect micro climate for premium pinot production.
